One Albert Quay wins commercial project of the year

Over 500 of the leading construction industry professionals gathered in the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Dublin last night, Thursday 2nd June, for the annual Irish Construction Awards 2016.

On the night 23 prestigious trophies were presented as the who’s who of the construction industry celebrated the achievements in the sector. One Albert Quay, the unique Grade A office development in Cork City Centre, developed by JCD and built by BAM Building, walked away with one of the top awards on the night, as it was crowned Commercial Project of the Year 2016.

Martin O’Brien, Project Manager for JCD, was thrilled with the win and said “It is a great privilege to win this national award and we would like to complement our building contractor, BAM Building, for delivering an excellent building on time and on budget”. Pat Connolly, Project Manager for BAM Building, added “We are delighted to have won this award and to have delivered such a high profile building at such a unique riverside location in Cork.”

One Albert Quay, the 6-storey Gold LEED office bock, which has become known as Ireland’s smartest building, features some of the latest technology available globally such as destination control lifts and an extensive building management system linking access control, energy efficiency and real time building data.

One Albert Quay is now home to the global headquarters of Tyco, who are joined by a number of other prestigious tenants including PwC, Hortonworks, Malwarebytes, ARUP, Ardmore Shipping, Investec and Starbucks.
