Data Centres

Introduction

EPark is a 100 acre site located in Little Island, Cork immediately adjacent to the new Dunkettle Interchange. The site has unrivaled access to the regional's power infrastructure being located next to the Castleview electrical substation which is directly fed from the main regional substation in Knockraha.

We have completed the shell and core construction of the DC1 building which is 86,000 Sq. Ft and have secured 12MW of grid capacity which will be made live in 2026. This is the first new grid connection to be issued under the new CRU rules.

EPark has full planning permission in place for 508,000 Sq. Ft of data centre space spread over 3 buildings as follows:

  • DC1 is 86,000 Sq. Ft, single storey data centre, with shell and core works complete and 12MW of electrical grid capacity plus 33MWth of gas capacity.
  • DC2 is 99,000 Sq. Ft, single storey data centre, with site clearence works complete and 10MW of electrical grid capacity plus 33MWth of gas capacity.
  • DC3 is 323,000 Sq. Ft, double storey data centre, with site clearence works complete and 60MW of electrical grid connection pending.

Electrical Overview:

EPark is the first location in Ireland to have received grid offers under the new CRU rules. The Cork area will benefit from the new Celtic Interconnector which will bring an additional 700MW to the region in 2027. This capacity enters the grid at Knockraha which is immediately north from Castleview substation which services EPark.

A new 110KV substation is being built by Eirgrid onsite with two existing 10KVA sustations already onsite.

Fibre Overview:

The site has excellent fibre connectivity with Ireland’s five largest fibre providers connected directly to the site.

  • Aurora Telecom’s newest dark fibre cable has a PoP on site which provides round trip latency to Dublin of 2.9milliseconds or 1.5 milliseconds one way.
  • BT Fibre Network
  • ENET Fibre Network
  • EIR NGN Fibre

Upcoming new networks:

  • Pipiper Network will have their new PoP onsite in 2026 providing 288 fibre pairs and providing round trip latency to Dublin of 2.3 milliseconds.
  • Celtic Interconnector Fibre Cable will provide a direct connection to France without going through the UK and with a latency of 4 milliseconds.
