Introduction

Our team is working on a landmark apartment scheme on Albert Quay in Cork, in conjunction with Cluid Housing and Cork City Council.

The project is a collaboration between Cork CIty Council, Cluid Housing and JCD to deliver affordable homes in Cork’s docklands. Construction has started in October 2025 and is due for completion in Q4 2027.

The Railyard Apartments

“The Railyard Apartments” will deliver 217 new homes at the heart of the city Docklands, consisting of a mix of studios, 1, 2 and 3 bedroom units. These include 118 designated as cost rental, 77 as social/affordable and 22 as age-friendly.

Sleek High-Rise Architecture at Albert Quay/Albert Street

The scheme consists of a landmark, slender 25 storey tower built to a high architectural standard on Albert Quay/Albert Street, which will step down to 12 storeys and then 9 storeys.

The Tallest Residential Building in Ireland: The Railyard Apartments

The tallest element of the building will reach a height of 85.35m, making The Railyard Apartments the tallest residential building in Ireland. The expected completion date is September 2027.

Revitalising Carey House with Bar, Plaza & Modern Upgrades

The project will also incorporate significant renovation works, resulting in a new bar/restaurant, a new publicly accessible plaza and the refurbishment of the former Carey House building.
